Who can use Country Brand Peru?

Those who have completed the application process of the Country Brand Peru and having obtained a Certificate of License of Use.

This process requires formality and applicant's reputation, quality of products and services, the use is aligned with the objectives of the Country Brand Peru and commitment to the development of Peru.

Why apply for a license to use the brand Peru?

Because using the Country Brand Peru can join the effort to promote Peru, creating a positive image nationally and internationally paisa. Bringing the brand is: • An expression of pride in promoting Peru as Peruvian or • A statement that invest and bet by Peru • A responsibility to do their best to boost the image of Peru • A signal that our company is a role model

Does the license will cost?

No, license is currently free.

When obtaining the licence, am I a Brand Ambassador?

No, to get my certificate of license contained in the Country Brand,'m licensee. In this sense, they can not call themselves Country Brand Ambassadors or similar, however can leverage the brand to develop various slogans as they deem appropriate. 

Just Peruvian products may be lebeles?

Yes, the Country Brand Peru can only accompany brands of Peruvian products, ie products in which at least 50% of the cost of sale is of Peruvian origin. Be understood as components of cost of sales of raw materials, labor, selling expenses, administrative costs, overhead, among others within the total product cost. 

What about brands that have more than one products?

If a brand has more than one product in your portfolio, you must meet the 80/20 rule. At least 80% of the units sold or sales value of the brand must be of Peruvian origin products. 

What is the procedure to apply for the licence?

To use the Country Brand Peru must create a user account in the application "Using the Country Brand" at the www.peru.info page and then click on the "request the use of the brand."

The online application will allow the applicant to choose the type of license required, attach the required documents and explain the reasons why you wish to license.

After submitting the request through the system, the Country Image Management will evaluate the application and issue a ruling in a maximum of twenty (25) calendar days.

No documents or chips will table parts, because, as established in the Regulations, the application process will be online licensing.

The evaluation process has three stages.

Foreign companies can apply the Brand Peru?

Yes, any company that promotes it to Peru or Peruvian can apply for the license of the brand Peru. Companies operating outside the country can apply for the license and the license will then get a good assessment of PROMPERÚ. As part of the evaluation, the companies that operate outside the national territory must attach copy of letter of reference issued by the Peruvian Consulate in the country where it operates.

What are the benefits of getting the license?

Using the Country Brand Peru and promote the country's image:

 • Generates a benefit for all Peruvians and our economy.

 • According to a recent national study, a positive effect on the image of the company or product to take her.

 • The applicant will enter the database licensors and may participate, upon coordination, PROMPERÚ different activities scheduled for the year.

What king of license I can apply?

You can access three types of Service:

 a) Use Institutional / Corporate: Peru Brand communications accompanies corporate-level business natural persons or legal entities or foreign.  c) Use in Events: The brand Peru may accompany events that promote tourism, exports, investment and the country's image. Some examples are: Fairs, Festivals, Conferences, Seminars, Workshops.

What should I do to renew the license of the brand Peru?

You must follow a procedure similar to that required to apply for a license. It notes that on-call time should not exceed ten (10) days after filing the renewal since the company has already been evaluated and only requires updating and verification of documentary compliance with the new regulations for use of the Country Brand Peru.

Should I have my INDECOPI registered trademark?

Yes, the Country Brand Peru accompany products or services that your trademark with the competent authority. The competent authority in Peru is the INDECOPI.

Trademark Registration in INDECOPI is very important because:

  a. Able to distinguish the product or products in the market.

  b. Gives a commercial advantage to other unbranded products.

  c. Allows attract and retain consumers.

  d. Allow prevent misuse by third parties.

But if exports fabricate white label, I can apply the License?

Yes, the Country Brand Peru may be used where the applicant manufactures export products with private label. In this case, the Country Brand Peru may accompany the product as long as they accompany the manufacturer's name. The brand Peru could not accompany the client's brand. Example: In the Country Brand apparel Peru could accompany the washing label.

Once licensed, Why do I need to send our design for approval?

It is important to ensure the graphic identity of the Country Brand Peru contained in the Manual Use Chart sent to each licensee, so PROMPERÚ review the designs to help licensees to use the logo in the right way. The need for verification will be phased out.

Just I can also use the logo or other graphic elements of the brand?

What if I want to be Brand Ambassador Country Peru?

Marche ambassadors are those recognized as being traditionally Peruvian brands and also performed with PROMPERÚ activities or campaigns to promote Peru.
