More than 550 entrepreneurs attended the Pacific Alliance's LAB4+ Summit, which made its debut at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in San Francisco (United States) and generated investment agreements worth USD 6,307.422.
It should be noted that $5,272,422 of the total investment mentioned above was generated at business meetings. The rest, amounting to $1,035,000, corresponds to technology investment in startups.
The seventh edition of the most important innovation, technology and business summit in Latin America, which took place on November 20 and 21, brought together more than 25 of the main investors from the renowned Silicon Valley, along with innovative executives and entrepreneurs from Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
"During the two days of the forum, LAB4+ hosted more than 100 meetings that have so far resulted in technology investment agreements totaling more than $6.3 million", said Mario Ocharan, PROMPERU's Export Director.
"This was an excellent first step to connect the main innovation ecosystems and service exporters of the Pacific Alliance with San Francisco, the global capital of technology and innovation", he added.
A total of 176 meetings were held during the summit, 97 of which were business meetings. While the remaining 79 were entrepreneurial pitches.
Representatives present from the four countries that make up the Pacific Alliance included Peru's Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Sayuri Bayona, the director of ProChile's office in California, Nicolás Vives, ProColombia's Vice President of Exports, Juliana Villegas, and Mexico's Consul General in San Francisco, Remedios Gómez Arnau.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear more than 35 presenters talk about their successes as Pacific Alliance entrepreneurs, as well as attending expert-led workshops and launch meetings.
About The Pacific Alliance
It was founded in 2011 as an economic and development initiative among four Latin American nations: Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Since then, this bloc has become the hub of a new way of doing business on the continent.
It currently represents the sixth largest economy in the world, with more than 230 million inhabitants and an outstanding business ecosystem formed by start-ups, public innovation and a global market. The LAB4+ Summit is its main platform to connect these entrepreneurs and generate growth and business opportunities among them.
What is the secret of the alliance's success?
The key lies in joining forces beyond national borders. This is a mechanism of political and economic links, cooperation and integration that seeks to find a space to promote greater growth and greater competitiveness in the four economies that comprise it.
The members of the Pacific Alliance are confident that this is possible through gradual progress in the free movement of goods, services, capital and people.
