More than 300 Peruvian exporters who participated in Fruit Logistica 2019, the most important fruit and vegetable trade fair in Europe, returned to the country with business commitments worth more than $230 million.
After four days of intense negotiations in the German city of Berlin, the business expectations initially considered by representatives from 60 export companies, associations and national guilds that arrived in Europe were largely exceeded.
During the days that Fruit Logistica 2019 was in progress, products such as blueberry, mandarin and avocado were the most in-demand from the thousands of international buyers who visited the Peruvian pavilion.
The countries most interested in Peruvian products were Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Holland, the United States, China, South Korea and Russia.
EUROPEAN DEMAND
The German supermarkets Aldo, Lidl, Edeka, Rewe and Kaufland increased their range of Peruvian fruits and vegetables, including turmeric, ginger and pomegranates, which join others such as grapes, avocados and mangoes, already in great demand from European consumers. European companies did once again confirm the high quality of Peruvian products in the EU's largest market.
Custard apple and raspberries also made an impression on foreign importers from Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Holland, France, the United States, China, South Korea and Russia, who also attended the world's leading fruit and vegetable trade fair.
It is worth mentioning that the organization of the Fruit Logistica 2019 international trade fair recognized the Peruvian pavilion as being the most visited of all Latin America.
Peruvian participation in the Fruit Logistica trade fair was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR), PROMPERÚ and the Peruvian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of Peru's Commercial Offices Abroad (OCEX) based in Germany, the Peruvian Embassy in Germany and the Association of Peruvian Agricultural Producers Guilds (AGAP).
DETAILS
Peruvian participation at Fruit Logistica 2019 also became the ideal scenario for PROMPERÚ to present the most important authorities and trade fair representatives with a copy of the book Perú: El Gusto es Nuestro (Our Pleasure).
The vice-minister of transport and digital infrastructure of Germany, Steffen Bilger, the ambassador of Peru in Germany, Elmer Schialer; and the general manager of the Business Association for Latin America, Orlando Baquero, were some of the personalities that were impressed by the above publication.
