Expo Peru Dubai: Business people reach US$ 24 million in business expectations

On the road to the Universal Expo 2020, a delegation made up of close to 100 Peruvian business people, including exporters and tour operators, participated in Expo Peru Dubai, achieving business expectations of US$ 24 million.
From November 3 to 4, the global record of appointments in this Asian destination market was broken, due to the fact that each Peruvian company had an average of 15 business meetings with 115 buyers from 13 countries, thanks to the coordinated work of Peru's trade office in that country.
The mission was led by Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Edgar Vásquez, who held meetings with the presidents of DP World and Emirates Group with the aim of encouraging investments in Peru and improving connectivity to consolidate the Peru-Dubai partnership as the hub for the South American Pacific, the Arab world and the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) regions, respectively.
A payment to the earth ceremony was also held on what will be the Peru pavilion at World Expo 2020, being one of the first of the continent to advance with its strategy of a total of more than 150 participating countries, a fact that was highlighted by Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, executive director of this expo.
THE ROAD TO EXPO DUBAI 2020
The payment to the earth ceremony which took place at Expo Peru Dubai marked the start of the journey along the road to the Expo 2020 Dubai World Expo, an event of major international interest that is on the same level as a country such as ours which is about to celebrate its Bicentennial.
This promotional effort, developed by MINCETUR and PROMPERU together with the private sector, will allow Peruvians to access new markets of global importance, both to offer Peru’s best export products and to make Peru a more attractive destination for international tourists.
It is important to point out that Dubai is considered the third largest re-export platform in the world, handling 55% of the world’s container cargo. In addition, the United Arab Emirates is among the 15 most important markets for Peruvian exports.

Among the activities held in Dubai, PROMPERÚ highlighted the international pisco contest as part of the Pisco is Peru campaign, with the participation of seven barmen from the seven Asian countries, in which the representative of Hong Kong won.
