Nearly 30 Peruvian food exporters and tour operators concluded deals worth $8 million during the second edition of China International Import Expo (CIIE), the Asian giant's most important trade fair, which took place in Shanghai from November 5-10.
Participation in the CIIE was part of the Peruvian tour of Asia, which included the cosmopolitan city of Dubai (United Arab Emirates), with the aim of promoting Peru as a supplier of quality products and promoting its tourist attractions.
"Peruvian participation has been very fruitful in China. Quinoa, prawns, coffee, sacha inchi, chia, kiwicha, chestnuts and chocolate were the Peruvian products that aroused most interest in Asian buyers. China is a valuable ally for closing important deals, as well as for promoting the best of our exports and tourist destinations in Asia", said Luis Torres Paz, executive president of PROMPERÚ.
During the Peruvian exhibition on Chinese soil, several activations were carried out to promote the Super Foods Peru, Coffees from Peru, Pisco, Spirit of Peru and Alpaca from Peru industry brands.
PERU WINS OVER CHINA
In this tour, PROMPERÚ and T - Mall, China's main online platform to promote electronic commerce by companies, signed an agreement that will increase the presence of Peruvian products in Asia.
Taking advantage of his stay in Shanghai, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Edgar Vasquez, was invited to open the Trade and Economic Forum for China, Africa and Latin America, organized by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the largest in that country and the largest in the world by market capitalization.
The head of MINCETUR took the opportunity in this meeting to highlight Peruvian-Chinese relations and hail the significant growth in investment by the Asian giant in our country.
Meanwhile, the regional governor of Huancavelica, Maciste Díaz, who was part of the delegation, informed the CIIE attendees about the Expo Peru Los Andes 2020, together with Minister Edgar Vásquez.
This was the international launch of the regional exhibition, and Chinese businessmen were invited to participate in this large commercial platform that will bring together producers who are mainly from the regions that make up the Commonwealth of the Andes (Apurímac, Ayacucho, Junín, and Huancavelica).
