The first shipment under the brand name Cafés del Perú was sent to Belgium, the European country considered to be the third destination market for our flagship product.
The container, with 428 quintals valued at $82,300, will arrive at the port of Antwerp and will be received by EFICO NV, an import firm that will distribute the product to the main roasters in the Belgian market and, in the short term, to an important part of the Old Continent.
Cooperativa de Servicios Múltiple Cenfrocafé is the first organization authorized to use the Cafés del Perú brand. It is important to point out that the shipment of coffee from this leading cooperative was made possible thanks to the support of the Commercial Office of Peru (OCEX) in Belgium.
"The Cafés del Perú industry brand represents all the types of coffee produced in our region and seeks to involve the consumer in the history of a product linked to cultural richness and national biodiversity, and with the presence of many flavors, aromas and varieties", said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Edgar Vásquez Vela.
"It also has a strong social component, because its production involves the effort and passion of about 250,000 families", added the minister.

Cenfrocafé is a recognized cooperative that was founded in Cajamarca on October 26, 1999, and that groups together more than 3,000 producer members dedicated to coffee production, Cenfrocafé being one of the main ones.
The organization, which is organic and fair trade certified, is one of the most representative in the industry. Its main markets are America (the USA, Canada and Mexico), Asia (China and Japan) and Europe (Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom).
Furthermore, shipments of green coffee in 2018 totaled $676 million. The total exported value of this product, $135 million, corresponded to certified and special coffees. With respect to the volume exported, Peru exported 5.6 million quintals, showing a 5% increase compared to 2017.
It is important to note that the Cafés del Perú brand was launched in August 2018 within the framework of Expo Amazónica, with the purpose of positioning this commodity as a quality product, distinguished and recognized throughout the world.
