Sacha inchi, noni, camu camu, fruit pulp, as well as cereals, were some of the products most in demand from foreign buyers who attended the Superfoods Perú Natura business roundtable, which concluded with commercial agreements worth US$ 42.2 million.
During the event, which took place on September 25 at the Lima Convention Center, 70 buyers established 854 commercial contacts with more than 75 small and medium producers from the regions of Arequipa, Cusco, Junín, Lima, Puno and San Martín. This roundtable generated US$ 2.8 million more than initially projected.
Buyers from South Korea, as well as those from China, showed interested in Peruvian products and assessed the value-added products on display, such as cereals. Mexico and Colombia, whose delegations were the most numerous, also showed their satisfaction with the items on offer during the gathering.
Other products that proved favorites with businessmen were: aguaymanto pulp, frozen blueberries, toasted sacha inchi, canned peppers, quinoa-based breakfast cereals, yacón jams, and cocoa nibs coated with yacón and lucuma.
It should be noted that the buyers were selected thanks to the support of the Peruvian Commercial Offices Abroad (OCEX) located in the various markets of the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
