Gamarra prepares for Peru Moda Deco 2023

In order to boost economic recovery and promote the internationalization of small and medium peruvian companies, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) has carried out the first edition of the Gamarra Export Route.

This initiative, which has provided training to representatives of the iconic Gamarra Commercial Emporium, is presented as a strategic step towards the expansion of the Peruvian textile industry.

"The purpose is to prepare them to showcase the best of their exportable offerings to more than 200 buyers from the global fashion industry who will attend Peru Moda Deco 2023 from regions in Latin America, America, Europe, and Asia," mentioned Ricardo Limo del Castillo, the Director of Export Promotion at PROMPERÚ.

The selection process for participating companies began with thorough fieldwork, identifying those with significant export potential. A total of 20 companies were enrolled in the training program, where Gamarra representatives gained key knowledge in business management, market access regulations, digital marketing, as well as various topics related to international trade, essential for their participation in business events.

The 25th edition of Peru Moda Deco, the most prominent event in the textile industry in the country, will be the stage where finally 15 of these participants will present their products to the international market, representing a strategic step for the expansion of the Peruvian clothing industry.

"This is a strategic step for the expansion of the Peruvian clothing industry. It is sought that, through collaborative efforts between production chains, entrepreneurs, representatives of the public and private sectors, opportunities for business continue to be generated for Peruvian SMEs," Limo del Castillo added.

Peru Moda Deco 2023 will take place on October 19 and 20 at the Lima Convention Center. During these two days, both national and international attendees will have the opportunity to participate in business meetings, international forums, fashion shows, and more.
