Peru made the first shipment of products to the Taiwanese market through cross-border E-Commerce, reported the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).
"This is the first entry to Taiwan using this tool. We already have more than 500 cases of small and medium-sized enterprises reaching other markets. These efforts are part of a promotion strategy that we are implementing on the basis of E-Commerce, as an innovative way of doing business," said PROMPERÚ's executive president, Luis Torres Paz.
A total of 13 companies from Arequipa, Cusco, Junín, Lima and San Martín have made this first shipment to the Asian destination, which includes chocolates, coffee, alpaca clothing, garments for women and children, trousers, jewelry, and home decoration items, among other products, totaling US$ 500,000.
E-Commerce is carried out in collaboration with the main foreign electronic platforms. This time, it was made possible by the portal www.books.com.tw, which is among the top five online shopping platforms in the Taiwanese market.
It is worth mentioning that the Taiwan E-Commerce Program is a tool to increase and diversify exports to this Asian market through digital channels. It is mainly aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises and includes training, assistance and trade promotion activities.
