The alpaca fiber and cotton clusters will be, among other creations, the main flagship products at the next edition of Peru Moda and Peru Moda Deco, the mega-event that is moving from display cases to computer screens to conquer the five continents.
At its first 100% digital event, to be held from October 1 to 30, Peru Moda and Peru Moda Deco will seek to increase the participation of regional companies from across the country, particularly SMEs, reported the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).
With the slogan Feel & Live Sustainable, the activity is part of a digital transformation strategy being promoted by PROMPERÚ, whose promotional platforms are moving into the virtual ecosystem, which will allow for the democratization and decentralization of business opportunities, reported Luis Torres Paz, executive president of the institution.
Supporting national industry
It is well known that the textile industry is one of the pillars of Peruvian production. According to the Andina news agency, textile shipments showed encouraging behavior by generating 59 million dollars in sales this June, an increase of more than 300% in relation to April (13 million).
This year, the Peru Moda and Peru Moda Deco digital platform will work hand in hand with SMEs, highlighting the best clothing, jewelry, brand development, footwear, accessories and decorative items. The event will be free of charge and promoted by PROMPERU's commercial offices abroad.
It will be a virtual celebration for fashion-loving companies with an ancient legacy, coming from the hands of craftspeople and manufacturers who work with the elements that Mother Earth offers them. The products reflect new ethical standards in the fashion industry that say no to environmental pollution and prioritize the principle of sustainability and fair treatment in the value chain.

Peru Moda and Peru Moda Deco 2020 will feature a business meeting, an academic forum and a sustainability and innovation contest. There will also be specialized online seminars, and the Award for Sustainability and Innovation in the Textile, Clothing and Decoration Industry will be presented, an event in which any company that helps to optimize marketing and product production processes can participate.
Peru Moda and Peru Moda Deco is the result of the joint work between the public and private sectors, which aims to boost the textile sector and put this industry among the most important in the region.
