Peruvian natural ingredients steal the spotlight at a major cosmetics expo in Paris

Peruvian companies expect to make around USD 900,000 in sales over the next year.

A steady pace! Ten Peruvian cosmetics companies showcased a range of fresh products made from ingredients found in the landscapes of the Peruvian Amazon and Andes at the In Cosmetics Global fair in Paris, France, on April 16 and 18.

Candela Peru, Cloud Forest, Colorantes Naturales Peruanos, Organik Cosmetica, Essential Oils Peru, Mamatara Farm (Molinos Asociados), Pebani, Primegreen, Orginor Natural, and Sekut Vanilla stood out with their essential oils, exfoliants, butter, gums, and natural colorants like carmine or anthocyanin. These ten Peruvian brands are estimated to achieve sales of USD 900,000 in the next 12 months following a series of successful meetings with international manufacturers or importers.

At the event, attendees were amazed by the fantastic benefits of products like "dragon's blood oil" for skin and hair. They learned about the nutritional goodness of copoazu, ungurahui, and chestnut. People were particularly impressed by the antioxidant effects of aguaje oil and jojoba, and they were surprised to discover the anti-inflammatory properties of sacha inchi.

In Europe, upcycling is a widespread practice, where waste from production processes is reused. Additionally, consumers are showing keen interest in prebiotic or probiotic products—cosmetics made from fresh fruit extracts, and organic and natural ingredients. They are also drawn to storytelling or narratives that show these products to the public.

When we talk about the beauty trend in France, it is all about going "zero waste." That means creating products without water and embracing the "do it yourself" approach, i.e., the emergence of stores or kits whose objective is to realize your own products.
