Tingo Maria’s charm and the ExpoAmazonica

Tingo Maria, located in the region of Huanuco, is a beautiful city in the Peruvian Amazon. Known for its incredible landscapes and the warmth of its people, this city was chosen to welcome the 2016 Expo Amazonica, the most important trade show of products from the country’s rainforest. "This event had over 400 stands for sale and exhibition of agricultural and handcraft products, among others, which were enjoyed by visitors. There were exhibitors from Amazonas, Cusco, Huanuco, Madre de Dios, San Martin and Ucayali regions."The event generated more than 11 million dollars in profits, being the the most successful edition so far. The commercial agreements with the most benefits were the ones involving cacao and coffee products, which have the highest international recognition. On the other hand, this edition introduced the first ever Tourism Business Roundtable, highlighting the great potential for attractions in the region. "Without a doubt, the exotic liquors were the stars at the fair. The most popular ones were the cocktails made from coffee, coconut, aguaje, grapes and camu camu. Besides cocktails, there were also typical beverages, which mixed several amazon plant roots, considered as aphrodisiac by many Peruvians.
