New York delights once again with Peruvian cuisine

New York City will rejoice once again on Sunday, September 23, when three world celebrities of Peruvian gastronomy meet on the same stage, and will participate as Guests of Honor in the 7th Peru to the World Expo, the culinary experience of the year, to be held at the Metropolitan West of Manhattan (639 W 46 St. New York, NY 10036), between 2 pm and 9 pm.
Chef Javier Wong, who holds the title of "Best Ceviche in the World", will attend to the traditional and famous gastronomic event. His “Chez Wong” restaurant located in the neighborhood of Santa Catalina was visited by Anthony Bourdain; and in 2014 Wong was proclaimed by the Guardian as “Winner of Chowster tastiest item in the world award. For the first time, Wong will offer a master class of the exquisite CEVICHE, staple dish of Peru, which will be tasted by 30 winners drawn that day.
Along with Wong, the experienced chef Flavio Solórzano will participate. He is considered one of the main ambassadors of Peruvian cuisine around the world. He was trained by his grandmother as a child in the restaurant that he now directs and manages, "El Señorío del Sulco", that is recognized as one of the best in Peru.
Master chef Danny Kou from Fort Lauderdale will also participate. He is the owner of Kousine Peruvian Kitchen and is considered one of the leading chefs in the United States for his great experience and knowledge of the Chinese fusion cuisine.
With many renowned chefs, the flavors of Peruvian cuisine will come together in the metropolitan area to offer a varied tasting of the most exquisite dishes, accompanied by delicious cocktails from the traditional Pisco. Among them, chef César Franco, from the Incas Grill Peruvian Kitchen; chef Javier Florez, from Florida; Yuki Nakandakari, from Maryland; Archie Márquez and Michael Ciuffardi, from Virginia; and “The Queen of the Peruvian desserts" Maria Guerrero from Luchita’s bakery.
On the entertainment side, the event will feature the renowned singer Iraida Valdivia, known as "La Reina de la Guardia Nueva," along with the group "Kambalache" to bring Afro-Peruvian salsa to this true Peruvian fiesta.
