Peru consolidates position as a meeting tourism destination in South America

PROMPERU announced that, thanks to the efforts made with the private sector in 2016, it was possible to attract 15 international meetings for the coming years. This work together will allow us to continue positioning ourselves as a major meeting tourism destination in South America.

For example, in 2017, Arequipa will be the host city of the Inter-American Congress of Public Relations, which will bring together professionals, teachers and students from Latin America and the Caribbean.

Likewise, Lima will also strengthen its presence in South America. In 2019, our capital city will become the host city of the annual conference of the International Aviation Womens Association - IAWA.

In the regional edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2016, held in July, Lima was awarded South America's Leading Meetings & Conference Destination.
