Peru will be present at Expo Dubai 2020, an international event that represents a unique opportunity to promote the best of the country to a global audience of more than 15 million people, as well as promoting growth of the main economic sectors.
The world fair is destined to be one of the most highly attended universal expositions in history. It will involve six months of great exposure, through business roundtables and promotion of our products and services, as well as our tourist attractions.
"Expo Dubai 2020 is the most ambitious showcase for the promotion of tourist attractions and exports in the history of Peru. It will involve six months where more than 15 million people will be able to see the wonders of Peru exhibited in one place. On the eve of the bicentennial, it is fitting that our country should participate in an event of great global significance", remarked the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Edgar Vasquez.
Under the slogan "Connecting minds, creating the future", Expo Dubai 2020 will promote three sub-themes that are currently priorities for the world: sustainability, mobility and opportunity. Throughout the duration of the global exhibition, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú) will present the Peru pavilion before the eyes of the world, with the presence of potential investors and exporters.
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) appointed former Minister Eduardo Ferreyros as Commissioner of the event, to assume the task of representing Peru in this important exhibition.
According to Ferreyros, Peruvian participation is a great opportunity to show the world the best of our country and thus promote export growth and the increase in tourists to our country. "Expo Dubai 2020 will become a milestone for the promotion of our country in the world", he said.
OPPORTUNITY TO CONQUER THE WORLD
Peru's participation in high impact international events has allowed the country to make tourism the third economic activity in our country, accounting for 3.9 % of GDP.
The exhibition is therefore a unique showcase to show the biodiversity we have to offer in relation to agro-industry, fishing, bio-trade, wood products, decorative items and handicrafts. It is also an opportunity to promote alpaca fiber and cotton textiles, chocolate, specialty coffees, pisco, the Superfoods Peru brand and many other products.
