Invest Day Perú-Chile: PROMPERÚ will present $158 million project portfolio to investors

- An important event will be held on October 24 and 25, in order to strengthen the image of our country as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment.
- Invest Day will host a roundtable between Peruvian and Chilean business owners, as well as a forum where information will be provided on the conditions for investment and the goodness of the Peruvian economy.
On October 24 and 25, the Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) will present Invest Day Perú-Chile 2022, an institutional event where a portfolio of 62 business projects for foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country totaling $158 million, mainly in the real estate, food and high-tech industries, will be promoted to important Chilean investors.
In addition, business and technical orientation meetings will be held with various Peruvian counterparts from the public and private sectors to facilitate the potential establishment of new investments in different regions of Peru, such as Lima, Piura, Ica, Junín, Tumbes and La Libertad.
This event will host a roundtable between business owners from both nations, as well as a forum where the goodness of the Peruvian economy will be presented and information will be provided on the best conditions to receive eventual investments to promote multi-regional development.
"On this occasion, 'Peru, a resilient, facilitating and biodiverse country' will be the theme of Invest Day Perú-Chile 2022, an important space to strengthen the image of Peru as an attractive destination for the arrival of these capitals to the prioritized sectors. In addition, we will share successful experiences of Chilean investments in national territory, which will show that our country offers a great opportunity for FDI," said Amora Carbajal, Executive Director of PROMPERÚ.
Among the main cases of successful investments from Chile that have been established in the country are Falabella, Grupo GTD, Modella, Alo Group, SMU S.A., Ingevec, Ripley, JetSmart Airlines, QuePlan, Amphora (Interandina de Comercio), Almendral, Cementos Bio Bio, Colgram, Komax S.A., Sky Airline, Cencosud, among others.
This Invest Day, to be held in the auditorium of PROMPERÚ at Basadre headquarters, will be attended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Peru in Chile, the Embassy of Chile in Peru, Mincetur, the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, ProChile, ProInversión and the chambers of commerce of both countries, as well as trade unions and representatives of private institutions.

PERU-CHILE RELATIONS
The bilateral investment relationship between Peru and Chile is evidenced by the flow of FDI between the two countries. For example, for the period 2003-2022, 76 Chilean companies invested in our country, which have developed 134 projects, creating an investment of approximately $6097 million and more than 50,000 jobs in Peruvian territory (according to the fDi Markets platform of the Financial Times).
FDI from Peru to Chile, for the same period, has been represented by 15 Peruvian companies, which have developed 17 projects, making an investment of approximately $253 million and creating approximately 1426 jobs in the neighboring country.
Moreover, during the period 2003 - July 2022, of the total FDI that our country received from Chile, 21% was invested in the real estate sector, followed by the food industry (18.0%), manufacturing (13.0%) and transportation and storage (11.6%).
