Lima, the Peruvian capital, was once again on the world art stage with the sixth edition of the Lima International Art Fair, which took place from April 19-22 at the Peruvian Army War College.
ArtLima is a platform that activates the visual arts market in Peru and brings the public closer to contemporary art. Over the years, it has come to be consolidated as a major event, and this year will be no exception, thanks to the hundreds of works by 81 exhibitors on display.
There are 53 galleries from 17 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, USA, Spain, France, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, UK, Uruguay and Venezuela), 19 institutions and 9 independent publishers of artists' books.
As in previous years, both Peruvian and foreign galleries participated, presenting works of art in different media and languages to the public: painting, sculpture, photography, video art, books, installations and performances.
ArtLima also organized talks, activities, programs, and an interesting audiovisual platform, as well as awards and recognitions that activated the cultural offering in the Peruvian capital. It thereby endeavored to encourage synergies between the various institutions and agents that make up the cultural industries.
For the sixth consecutive year, ArtLima was declared to be an "International Fair" by Mincetur and recognized as an "Event of Cultural Interest" by the Ministry of Culture.
