Once again "Alpaca del Perú" was at the 82nd Pitti Filati, a trade fair specializing in the world of fibers and yarns of the highest quality, which took place January 24-26 in Florence, Italy.
Buyers from all areas of the industry come together for every Pitti Filati to see color, textures and mixes that will provide the inspiration to develop new collections.
In the Spring-Summer 2018 edition, Pitti Filati united 4,350 buyers, with the most represented countries being the United Kingdom, France and Germany, followed by the USA, Switzerland, Spain, Russia and Turkey, to name a few.
The "Alpaca del Perú" exhibition sought to demonstrate the adaptability of alpaca, a fiber that as well as being used for the winter season, can also be used for the spring-summer seasons when combined with fibers such as linen, bamboo or silk, or when making more lightweight knits. At this edition of Pitti Filati, Alpaca del Perú showed off trends for the next 2019 season, with light ready-to-wear garments.
During the fair, the Peruvian stand was visited by around 600 professionals, designers, fashion students and representatives from important brands such as Max Mara (Italy), Mayoral (Spain), Roopa Knitting Mills (Canada), NN07 (Denmark) and Aritzia (Canada), among others.
At this edition, the Pitti Filati fair also displayed the RAW theme for the spring-summer 2019 season, which represents a reaction to excessive sophistication, seeking to go back to basics. As such, a trend area was established in which the "Alpaca del Perú" brand had an exhibition space.
It's worth mentioning that the Peruvian brand was created with a view to increasing the international market presence of alpaca products, promoting its origin and its qualities. This positioning process is part of the promotional campaign that includes different activities which allow it to be shown off and brought closer to buyers and consumers.
