Fashion professionals, entrepreneurs and students from main design and international business schools in Peru, and journalists from all over the world attended 2016 Perú Moda. The biggest buyers’ delegations came from United States, Brazil, United Kingdom, Italy and Chile, all invited by PROMPERÚ. Business deals reached 80 million dollars in sales between more than 1.500 buyers attending the exhibit. Markets are demanding business proposals at competitive prices from Peruvian textiles export supply and manufacturing. For this edition, Peruvian entrepreneurs have renewed their commercial strategy based on quality, design and logistics proposals innovation. Magali Silva, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism and President of PROMPERU’s Board of Directors said more than half international buyers attended the fair for the first time and alpaca fiber manufactured products had got their attention. ‘We are proud of the work and passion entrepreneurs, buyers, media and MINCETUR and PROMPERU teams show in our industry’, said Minister Silva. All this demonstrates Peru is on the right path to consolidate as Latin American textile and manufacturing business platform leader.
