Around 1,000 buyers from around the world will come to Peru interested in the range of exports offered by 250 exporters from the clothing and interior decoration industry at the Peru Moda & Peru Moda Deco 2018 business event, which will take place in the Lima Convention Center from April 25-27, the Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) reported.
In its twenty-first edition, Peru Moda & Peru Moda Deco aims to promote Peruvian exports from the clothing and interior decoration industry. Business meetings are thus encouraged between international buyers and Peruvian companies from the various regions of the country, and which represent the different product lines. This event is part of the business strategy proposed for 2021, directed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism and implemented by PROMPERÚ.
Among the buyers coming to Peru are: Liverpool (Mexico), La Martina (Argentina), Macron (Italy), Johnny Was (USA) and Frame La Brands LLC (USA), among others. Important delegations will also attend from the US (33%), Brazil (13%), Argentina (6%) and Chile (6%).
This event is a great opportunity for Peruvian businesses, particularly for the 149 small and medium businesses (SMEs) which come from Arequipa, Cuzco, Ayacucho, Junín, Puno, Piura, La Libertad, Huancavelica and Abancay.
This year's Peru Moda will launch the new 'Believe to be amazed' concept, which will attract public attention with new trends and innovative designs.
Peru Moda began 21 years ago with the aim of promoting the Peruvian clothing industry and is internationally recognized at present as one of the best platforms for selling exports from the clothing industry to important US, Latin American, European and Asian companies.
The platform will also present the Peru Moda Deco, which is changing the business strategy of the Peru Gift Show – specializing in gift and interior decoration products – to focus on the ambient decoration fashion .
Peru Moda Deco & Peru Moda Deco 2018 are also here to promote the concept of sustainability, seeking respect for the environment, social responsibility and aiming to generate an impact and added value throughout the production chain.
This year's event hopes to surpass the US$ 108 million in projected business created in 2017 from the more than 3,350 meetings generated between the people attending the business event.
ACTIVITIES
Three specialized forums will also take place at the business event: Sustainable Fashion, Market and Innovation; the latter being co-organized by the Pacific Alliance.
As part of its strategy of incorporating design into industrial exports, PROMPERÚ coordinates with key industry businesses and designers grouped under the Peruvian Designers Alliance at the Lima Chamber of Commerce, for the manufacture of capsule collections that reflect the synergy between industry and fashion.
The collections will be presented at Peru Moda, generating increased exposure with international buyers for the collections. PROMPERÚ thus signed an agreement with LIF Week to use the infrastructure of its catwalks in two fashion shows managed and organized by the national body at the Peru Moda exhibition.
The Peruvian Designers Alliance was officially presented at last year's event and 14 of its designers will take part in this year's event, not only showing off their creativity on the Peru Moda catwalk; but also holding meetings at the business event and carrying out brand activations with the international buyers attending.
Peru Moda will also promote synergy with the main business associations in the industry. The Peruvian Exports Association, the Lima Chamber of Commerce and the National Society for Industry will present the Texshow, a showcase for textile industry suppliers, with a range of products focused on yarns, fabrics and clothing-related industries.
In addition, the 8th National Prize for Peruvian Design and Crafts will take place: Innovation in Crafts, which will award the best innovation projects for the clothing industry.
Peru Moda & Peru Deco is organized by PROMPERÚ with the support of the Ministries of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) and Foreign Affairs, the Association of Exporters (ADEX), the Peruvian Exports Association, the Lima Chamber of Commerce and the National Society for Industry.
