These are the characteristics of Peruvian athletes who classified in different sports disciplines. 29 athletes will represent Peru at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, as wrestler Yanet Sovero classification was confirmed last. This is an unprecedented number of athletes. The highest record of Peruvian athletes was 2000 Sidney Games, presenting a delegation of 22 athletes competing in six sports. The COP (Peruvian Olympic Committee) informed Francisco Boza, sports shooter, will carry the delegation’s flag on August 5th at 2016 Rio Olympic Games opening ceremony.
