Peruvian delegation at the XXII South American School Games in Medellín received recognition of IPD

The XXII South American School Games of Medellín reaped achievements for the Peruvian delegation. For this reason, the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) organized a ceremony to recognize these young people who left Peru on high.
The president of the institution, Oscar Fernandez, congratulated the athletes and highlighted in particular the provincial delegations, obtaining more medals than the students from schools in Lima do.
The delegation of 149 youth athletes participated in 10 disciplines: chess, athletics, adapted athletics, basketball, handball, table tennis, judo, swimming, futsal and volleyball. The young Peruvian schoolchildren achieved 40 medals, of which 10 were of gold, 16 of silver and 14 of bronze.
These results show an encouraging growth in Peruvian sport, since in the 2015 edition, when the bicolor team achieved six gold medals, eight silver and 23 bronze.
