Ancient pictographs found in Machu Picchu strengthen its Inca origin

The amazing finding reveals the Inca Empire used this kind of art to reproduce its ancient experiences.

The designs were a man, a llama and a geometric element, located in Pachamama, 15 minutes from Machu Picchu citadel in Cusco. Found thanks to the joint work of Cusco Culture Decentralized Direction and Gory Tumi Echeverría, member of Peruvian Art Association.

Prove Incas practiced this kind of art, the same as other ancient civilizations, and did them on stone walls.

Fernando Astete, Machu Picchu Archeological Park director, indicated these pictographs were not in American explorer Hiram Bingham’s record during his 1911 expedition, when he revealed Machu Picchu to the world.

20 sites present ancient pictographs such as anthropomorphic, geometric, spiral, triangular, parallel lines designs, among others, using paint and other techniques.
