Within the framework of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games, athletes, international attendees to the event and the general public will have access to information about top Peruvian tourist attractions, as well as travel offers, thanks to a website created by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).
According to the organization, the 2019 Lima Pan American Games will bring together 6680 athletes from 41 countries, while 1890 athletes from 33 countries will arrive for the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games. The website (designed in Spanish and English) thus presents a special section where users can find up to 50 travel packages from 23 different tour operators, with offers for 11 Peruvian regions.
Within its eight sections, the website provides detailed information on various things to do in the capital during the competition. You will also find culinary proposals (a list of restaurants and recipes), cultural activities (exhibitions and events taking place at the same time as the games) and a list of attractions near the sports venues and through short routes outside Lima.
The site also has a section where you can find nutritional information and benefits of Peruvian super foods, as well as details of areas where you can do sports such as paragliding, surfing and cycling, among other things.
The tourist packages included on the site have been coordinated with the Peruvian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Apavit), the Peruvian Association of Inbound and Domestic Tour Operators (Apotur) and the Association of Inbound Tour Operators of Peru and Specialized Tourism (Asotur), through associated operators.
It’s worth noting that the website includes videos of the main Olympic and Paralympic athletes in the Peruvian team, photos of the main venues in which the Games will take place and a large news section.
DETAILS
Tourism is one of Peru’s main economic activities, contributing 3.9 Peru% of the national GDP and creating more than 1.4 million jobs, thanks to its knock-on effect and the long production chain it generates –especially for SMEs– directly benefiting the regions that are visited and empowering the female workforce.
