As part of a spiritual journey, the famous Venezuelan actress Catherine Fulop arrived in our country a few days ago, accompanied by a group of friends of different nationalities, led by her coach Julio Bevione.
After her arrival in Lima, Fulop and the group accompanying her moved on to the Inca citadel in Cusco. Here, the artist was amazed and expressed how impressive the spiritual route to Machu Picchu was on one of her social networks.
"Magic. The energy of love makes souls meet again, in another time, in another space, but always with the same essence. It was magical what we experienced this afternoon in the special meditation with Julio Bevione, on this spiritual route that takes us to Machu Picchu," Fulop said on Instagram.
Catherine Fulop is a renowned Venezuelan artist, who starred in famous soap operas in the 90s. She currently lives in Argentina, where in addition to acting, she works as a television host.
Machu Picchu, a recognized spiritual destination
The Machu Picchu Archaeological Park is the most visited destination in Peru, receiving around 1.5 million visits a year, both from national and foreign visitors.
There are a great many reasons to visit the Inca citadel, one of the seven wonders of the modern world: to discover the monumental buildings, the scenic beauty of its surroundings, the quest for adventure (climbing the mountain Huayna Picchu), and, among other reasons, the quest for the "mystical" aspect of the site.
In fact, in 2016, Turkey's "Skyroad" magazine drew up a list of the ten most popular spiritual tourism destinations, in which Machu Picchu ranked sixth. It was described as "a fantastic city above the clouds," highlighting its location at the top of Peru's Andes.
So there are tourists, some of whom famous like Catherine Fulop, who come to Machu Picchu and have more spiritual experiences. One of them was the Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, who after traveling the Inca Trail with his daughter some years ago, published an emotional article in which he said that "the four days and three nights on the route to Machu Picchu became, almost immediately, an experience that combined the physical with the spiritual, the earthly with the telluric, the individual with the collective".
Another actress who marveled at our citadel was American actress Michelle Rodriguez who after visiting Machu Picchu shared on social media that she had had the "most spiritual experience" of her life.
The well-known journalist and former Spanish CNN host, Ismael Cala, is another well-known international figure who in 2016 visited Machu Picchu leading a group of people, as part of an inspirational journey, in search of inner development and well-being.
