Good news for service exporters from all over Peru! The tenth edition of PERU SERVICE SUMMIT (PSS) was held virtually from November 15 to 19, with the objective of promoting the export of services and training micro, small and medium-sized companies throughout the country.
The sector has been gaining more and more importance in our country. In the last ten years, the export of Peruvian services has had a sustained growth, 7% more than that increased by traditional and non-traditional goods, which went from US$ 4,364 million in 2011 to US$ 7,604 in 2019.
The main destination markets for Peruvian services exports -which generated US$ 1 billion in 2020- are America (78%), Europe (15%), Asia (3%), Oceania (2%) and Africa (2%) and sectors in demand are: Software, Mining Services, Digital Marketing and Digital Animation. Likewise, the promotion has reached 28 markets thanks to the boost provided by PROMPERU through the Services Export Program.
That is why it is so beneficial that the event took place virtually, as it allowed more companies in the sector to connect digitally with important international contractors from 16 countries, in business rounds; and to exhibit its exportable offer through the virtual stands that were available to all visitors.
PSS included an International Forum and Specialized Workshops, an International Roundtable and the Virtual Exhibition; as well as the ¨Peru Exporta Servicios” Ceremony which, as every year, recognized 20 companies in the service sector that had stood out for their internationalization or for the high value of their exports.
PSS is the main business platform for trade in services in the Latin American region. Throughout its now 10 editions, it has achieved commercial opportunities for more than US$ 760 million, and the participation of more than 2,500 entrepreneurs through business rounds with international contractors from more than 25 markets.
