Peru on the list of the most beautiful pavilions to be inaugurated at Expo Dubai

Emirates Woman, a leading Dubai magazine focused on lifestyle and current trends, has compiled a list of the most beautiful pavilions to be featured at Expo Dubai 2020.

192 participating countries have their own pavilion and offer unique experiences to Expo attendees. However, only ten were chosen by the Emirati media as the best in terms of innovation and beauty. Peru is the only country in the Americas on the list, along with the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.

The Peru pavilion, developed by PROMPERÚ, under the concept of Timeless Peru, will present its visitors with a virtual tour of many landscapes and tourist attractions in our different regions. Our country will show the world, on giant screens, the various aspects of our artistic and cultural life, as well as the varied offer of agricultural and maritime products, mineral wealth, fauna and flora.

The pavilion of Peru has 2,500 meters of built area and will host the best of tourism and gastronomy, as well as the best cultural and product samples from the 25 regions of our country. Expo Dubai will be inaugurated by world authorities on September 30. It will be possible to visit this magnificent World Expo from October 1 to the end of March.

THE LLICLLA PRESENT AT DUBAI

Used for thousands of years by Andean women to protect and transport their babies, the traditional cloak known as lliclla is the main decoration of the facade of the Peruvian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

As a way of sheltering the attendees and the place where the flag of Peru is raised, the Peruvian lliclla will evoke the feeling of being guarded under the protective gaze of our millenary history, the same one that will be displayed for the more than 180 days that the event lasts.

Symbol of resistance and shelter, the lliclla is commonly used by Peruvian women who, with children on their shoulders, continue their day-to-day tasks. This ancestral practice has been extended to the present day and, in addition, it is used to move crops and various merchandise. According to the chroniclers, the use of the lliclla dates from pre-Inca times, being a millenary element that remains intact, as it symbolizes maternal love as well as the hard-working force of Andean women.

It is also recognized for its variety of colors and styles, which represent the natural resources of each area of ??origin. It is characterized by a dense handmade confection. Some more colorful than others, but the indisputable beauty is the common denominator of this majestic garment.
