Peruvian exporters enhanced products at Thaifex Fair in Thailand

The Peruvian delegation secured over $6 million in sales opportunities at a major international fair.
We are still on the rise! Nine Peruvian agribusiness and fishing companies secured business prospects worth USD 6.4 million for the next 12 months at the Thaifex-Anuga Asia 2024 Fair in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Impact Muang Thong Thani Muang hosted a diverse range of offerings from the Peruvian agro-industrial sector. The participating companies arranged 276 business meetings with international buyers.
Major supermarkets like Siam, Makro, and Lotus's were also present, along with importers and distributors such as Vachamon, Navatan, City Fresh, Rainbow Foods, Material Supply, Organic Seeds, Heritage Snack & Food, Sunrise Group, Eco-Action, and Matahari.

THE MOST OUTSTANDING
Buyers were mainly interested in products made from superfoods, especially powdered lucuma and sacha inchi. They also showed strong interest in Andean grains and their derivatives, such as quinoa, chia, chestnuts, and sacha inchi oil.
Regarding fresh fruits, grapes and blueberries were the most popular. For seafood, squid, abalone, and hake were the top choices.
National exporters noticed a strong interest in their products from buyers in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, and the Philippines. Additionally, there was notable interest from other countries like China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Japan, India, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, and Italy. This interest signals numerous new trade opportunities opening up for them.

THE FIGURES
According to the ADEX Data Trade Intelligence System, from January to April 2024, Peru exported agricultural products worth USD 63 million and 321 thousand to the markets of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The most sought-after products included cocoa, grapes, blueberries, quinoa, and coffee.
On the non-traditional fishing front, food shipments amounted to USD 13 million and 284 thousand. These shipments included frozen squid, shrimp tails, eel fillets, and other items.
