The benefits of alpaca fiber, reflected in attractive clothing designs and exceptional quality, have brought 60 buyers from 15 countries to participate in the Alpaca Moda business roundtable, held between October 24 and 25 in Arequipa, as part of Alpaca Fiesta.
Coats, sweaters and accessories such as hats, gloves and scarves are some of the high quality products that 60 companies from Arequipa, Ayacucho, Junín, Cusco, Puno and Lima - under the Alpaca del Perú sectoral brand - offer to buyers from Germany, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, South Korea, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands and Russia.
They come in search of new products made with this luxury fiber to supply their establishments, distributed across various parts of the world. Among the recognized foreign brands attending are Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs and Maud Heline (United States); Oilily and Suitsupply (Holland), Franco Ferraro and Tiziano Guardini (Italy), and A.P.C. (France).
The selection of buyers was made with the support of the various Foreign Trade Offices (OCEX) of Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), and it is anticipated that deals will be closed to the tune of US$ 10 million.
This activity is part of the internationalization strategy of the alpaca export range under the brand ALPACA DEL PERÚ, carried out by PROMPERÚ as part of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism's National Exporter Strategic Plan, known as PENX 2025.
It should be noted that PROMPERÚ is in charge of the Alpaca Moda business roundtable which is held as part of Alpaca Fiesta, an event that involves activities throughout the value chain of this Andean camelid from breeding, through the stage of industrial transformation to the processing of clothing and fashion.
