For the first time, three Peruvian wines from the Ica valley were presented to French sommeliers and importers in Bordeaux.
Our wines continue to conquer palates! This time, our wines honor the name of Peru no less than in the world's wine capital: Bordeaux, in France. On this occasion, they entered the prestigious City of Wine, "Cité du Vin".
This is a huge pride since it is the first time in history that three wines from the Ica valleys - Intipalka (Sauvignon Blanc 2021), Tacama Selección Especial (Petit Verdot 2018) and Tabernero (Malbec 2018) - were welcomed by the largest museum in the world dedicated to this drink. The museum has more than 1900 wine references from 70 producing countries and receives 40 thousand visitors annually.
More than 80 specialists participated in a tasting guided by sommelier Maria Cascon Gastelumendi to present our wines in France. During the event, French importers and sommeliers made a sensory journey through our country and discovered part of our viticulture. Thus, they learned about the grape varieties that we have and the importance of the vine in Peru.
The event was arranged thanks to the strategic alliance promoted by the Commercial Office of PROMPERÚ in France and the City of Wine "Bordeaux ".
"We have had the opportunity to show the world the wines that we have in Peru, present the grape varieties of our country to experts and sommeliers, and we will continue giving similar presentations for three years" said Rosario Pajuelo, Commercial Economic Counselor of Peru in France.
Peru marks a milestone in the city of Bordeaux, twinned with the city of Lima, with whom trade links continue to strengthen. This initiative was carried out after the launching of Pisco College in Paris last March and contributes to positioning the Peruvian viticulture abroad.
