Peruvian animated film Ainbo wins prestigious animation award in Spain!

Good news! The Peruvian film Ainbo, Spirit of the Amazon has won Best Animated Film at the prestigious Platinum Awards 2022 in the city of Madrid, Spain. This achievement allows positioning the quality of Peruvian animation around the world.

The Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) also informed that the work produced by the Peruvian studio Tunche Films, won the title over contenders such as Saving the Tree (Spain), Bob Cuspe: Nós Não gostamos de gente (Brazil) and Valentina (Spain).

This milestone in the history of Peruvian animation undoubtedly confirms the great moment this sector is experiencing. According to reports of PROMPERÚ, the recovery of the export of services has been boosted. In 2021, it recorded an 11% growth compared to the previous year. Excellent!

Ainbo, the Amazon warrior was directed by José Zelada. The director mentioned that this film is a tribute to his mother, a native of the Amazon region. She inspired him to touch on the themes, customs and wonders of the jungle that can be seen in the film, especially those of the Shipibo-Conibo tribe. 

But there's more! In a few weeks, this Tunche production could win another award in Spain. This Peruvian film is among the finalists for best feature film at the awards of the Quirino International Film Festival (Tenerife).
