Peru continues to surprise the world! This time, the renowned National Geographic portal announced that our capital is among the 30 most impressive destinations to visit in its most recent publication of The Cool List 2024. The aforementioned publication, which is read in much of the world, explains that Lima stands out for its gastronomy, the best restaurants in the world and accessibility to travel.
“It was the only city with two spots in the top 10 of the most recent World's 50 Best Restaurants awards,” is stated in the post. Two important restaurants are located in the capital: Maido, of chef Mitsuharu “Micha” Tsumura, who stands out in sixth place, and whose heritage comes from the Peruvian-Japanese fusion or Nikkei; and as the first representative, Central, of chefs Virgilio Martínez and Pia León, the first in the world, and who “considered by many as having placed Lima on the world gastronomic map”, for its innovative focus on local ingredients.
This National Geographic selection also highlights the experience that Miraflores and Barranco districts provide for residents and foreigners. “Away from Michelin-starred restaurants, rooftop bars have fast become the hangout of choice for Limeños,” is stated in the article.
Finally, Lima has also been recognized for its accessibility for visitors, who can access the capital of Peru through different airlines.
