Damaris Mallma Porras

She is daughter to famous singer Saywa from Ayacucho. Damaris is following her mother s steps making music since a young age. She has already worked with musicians from her mother s band, as well as with the Yawar band, one of the best Andean music bands. In 2003, she launched her debut album: "Dame una señal" which was very well accepted, particularly in the U.S. where she did a promotional tour. In 2007 she presented her second album "Mil caminos" at the Gran Parque de Lima. "Tusuy Kusun" which means "let s dance" in Quechua language is a song from this album that allowed her taking part in the famous Chilean music festival "Festival de la Canción de Viña del Mar" the following year. After being awarded at the festival thanks to this song, she turned into a star. The song was played at the EU-LAC Summit that year.
