Inés Melchor Huiza

Ines Melchor Huiza has achieved so many victories as a distance runner. She won two gold medals at the South American Athletics Championship held in Lima, qualifying to the 2009 World Athletics Championship in Berlin. On March 18, 2012 she competed in the Seoul International Marathon. It was her first time running there and she did it in 2:30:04, which was enough to qualify for the 2012 Olympics Games in London. The time was a national record and also the third best time in a female marathon in South America. In 2014, she ranked 8th in the Berlin Marathon and set a new South American record. On April 12, 2015 Ines took part in the Santiago Marathon coming first and setting a new record in the competition. Her time was 2:28:17 and it qualified her to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
