Juan José Chuquisengo is a self-taught musician and a role model for his commitment and dedication to art. He studied at the National Conservatory of Music. When finishing his studies he went to Europe. He has been awarded by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. His album "Trascendent Journey" is one of the best classical discs of all times as specialized magazines such as BBC Music Magazine and Grammaphone indicate. He has also given seminars, workshops and master classes in Latin America, North America, Europe, and Japan. Juan Jose explores improvisation in music. He also mixes different music styles, mainly Latin American rhythms. He is as well a martial arts teacher, black belt in Karate-Do and a Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Qi Gong instructor.
