Peruvian exportable products, such as super foods and Pisco, were showcased at Europe's most important gastronomic summit, Madrid Fusion 2020, which took place in the Spanish capital from January 13 to 15.
Through the industry brands Super Foods Peru and Pisco, Spirit of Peru, the Peruvian stand promoted the benefits and quality of exportable food and products from the food sector. Likewise, the Peruvian stand, that was active during the three days of the event, offered tastings of delicious dishes from the coast, highlands and jungles of Peru, becoming the epicenter of the event.
"The fact that we have been chosen for the eighth consecutive year as the World's Leading Culinary Destination only makes us want to continue promoting our gastronomy in international markets, and an event as renowned as Madrid Fusion, which brings together thousands of professionals from all over the planet, could not be an exception," said PROMPERÚ's Executive President, Luis Torres Paz.

Thanks to the support and commitment of Peruvian chefs and restaurants based in Spain, culinary demonstrations were held in which spectators got to appreciate the preparation of dishes such as the quinoa-based juane, tiger's milk, and Nikkei-style causa, among others. Expert Manuel Villacorta was present at the stand and explained the innumerable nutritional values of Peruvian super foods.
One of the main attractions of the 2020 edition of Madrid Fusion was the celebration of the careers of certain distinguished international chefs. Representing Peru, Gastón Acurio was honored as one of the top representatives of Peruvian cuisine in the world.
The Madrid Fusion International Gastronomy Congress is the most important culinary summit in Europe and brings together a specialized audience of chefs, exhibitors and accredited journalists in order to promote the latest trends in the culinary industry and the recognition of the world's cuisines, encouraging debate and reflection on gastronomy and the many areas linked to it.
Return of 'Perú Mucho Gusto' to Lima
Within the framework of the 18th edition of Madrid Fusion, the return of the 'Perú, Mucho Gusto' fair to Lima was announced after a 12 year pause, following the success of the 18 editions which took place in cities around Peru. The last edition of the fair, held in Tumbes, brought together 34,000 attendees over a period of three days, with 10% of the visitors coming from Ecuador.
'Perú, Mucho Gusto' Lima will take place between September 23-27, 2020 and will bring together the highlights of regional cuisine.
