Peru Service Summit 2019 closed with great success. The commercial opportunities generated at the business event totaled US$ 160 million, surpassing last year's record by US$ 9 million, reported the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).
"This result shows that the service exports sector continues to grow and demonstrates a very important dynamic that is bringing us together and generating more and more business connections and relationships; we can see that Peru has all the potential to be a leader in the export of services in its broadest sense," said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Edgar Vásquez.
The executive president of PROMPERÚ, Luis Torres, said that annual service exports amounted to US$ 7.5 billion, of which around US$ 800 million correspond to business services such as those on offer at the Peru Service Summit, which are related to the incorporation of technology carried out by talented Peruvian professionals.
This year's event was attended by 90 Peruvian business people and 100 foreign visitors. The sectors most in demand were software (48%), digital marketing (33%), mining services (10%), and digital animation (8%).
Meanwhile, the buyers that generated the most business came from Mexico (20 business people, accounting for 35%), followed by Bolivia (17 investors, 28%) and Panama (14 investors, 22%).
Peru Service Summit 2019 took place on September 4 and 5. It is one of the main platforms in Latin America for the services trade, seeking to position Peru as a specialized services developer.
