International Music Day: These musicians visited Peru in 2024 and were truly amazed by the experience

These concerts have made a significant impact on the country's cultural life and serve as an important source of income for the local economy.

In 2024, Peru has become one of the top destinations for renowned musical artists across various genres, who have packed stadiums and amphitheaters in cities like Lima and Arequipa.

Here is a review of the visits from the most internationally recognized artists this year. Let’s dive in!

Ricky Martin, a self-confessed lover of Cebiche, which he enjoys at the Peruvian restaurant in Miami, Cvi.che 105, presented his show "Ricky Martin Sinfónico" on January 19 at the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos Stadium, where he reviewed his successful four-decade career.

"The Sun of Mexico," Luis Miguel, returned to shine in Peru on February 24 and 25 at the National Stadium, performing on two highly anticipated dates where his timeless classics filled the air.

This month, artists from diverse genres arrived in the capital. Laura Pausini (March 6), Blink-182 (March 12), Gilberto Santa Rosa (March 16), and Sam Smith (March 20) performed at key venues in Lima, drawing large crowds and delivering unforgettable shows.

Meanwhile, the legendary thrash metal band Megadeth put on an adrenaline-packed show on April 6. Their iconic frontman, Dave Mustaine, a self-declared fan of Pisco, posed with the Peruvian flag upon arriving in the country.

Karol G captivated the entire National Stadium with two massive concerts on April 12 and 13. The Colombian star also took the opportunity to visit Machupicchu, where she posed for a photo at the iconic Inka citadel.

On the other hand, Chilean singer Mon Laferte delivered a first-class show on April 16. Mana arrived in Lima on Wednesday, April 17, as part of their "México lindo y querido" tour.

In the third week, on April 21, the Jonas Brothers returned to the country after 14 years and had an electrifying night on the stage of Costa 21. Nick Jonas made the most of his time in Peru and tried a delicious Cebiche.

On May 25, Sebastian Yatra, Greeicy, Mike Bahia, Piso 21, and other artists performed at the Lima Music Fest at the National Stadium. The following day, on May 26, Louis Tomlinson, former member of One Direction, delivered an incredible show as part of his "Faith in The Future World Tour."

The indie rock band Interpol included Peru in their international tour, performing on May 28, 2024, at Costa 21 in San Miguel. Meanwhile, the most iconic national rock band, Libido, returned to the stage for a dream night for their fans on June 6 at the National Stadium.

International artists Marc Anthony, Olga Tañon, and Manuel Turizo headlined the 484th Anniversary of Arequipa, delivering an unprecedented show to the crowd in the White City on August 14.

Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan, former One Direction member, rocked the National Stadium on October 6 as part of his world tour, "The Show: Live on Tour."
