In order to promote Peruvian financial innovation, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ), with the support of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center at the Universidad del Pacífico (Emprende UP), promoted an internationalization mission of 7 Peruvian fintechs in Mexico, from October 7 to 11.
Mario Ocharan, PROMPERÚ's Export Director, said that in addition to the mission, which allowed the transfer of knowledge and technologies applied in Mexico to Peruvian companies, there was also a funding round to scale fintech models.
"Participants attended academic conferences at prestigious universities, visited business incubators and accelerators, met experts on the recently approved Fintech Law in that country and exchanged information on opportunities and experiences", said Ocharan.
It is worth mentioning that PROMPERÚ has been promoting the internationalization of Peruvian companies for two years through business innovation missions, with the aim of generating synergies with strategic allies that allow them to diversify and make their export offer more sophisticated in complementary ecosystems, such as those in the Pacific Alliance.
Elizabeth Gómez, specialist in Fintechs, Corporate Relations and the Emprende UP Angels Investors Network, emphasized that this action will offer Peruvian fintechs the chance to get to know a market that is more developed in financial innovation areas.
