Summer 2025: Discover the best beaches in Metropolitan Lima

According to the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (SENAMHI), summer 2025 officially began on Saturday, December 21, at 04:21 a.m., bringing warm temperatures to the northern and central coast, along with rains in the central and southern Andean region.

As a result, the General Directorate of Environmental Health (DIGESA) of the Ministry of Health (MINSA) has released a list of safe beaches for bathers across the country, which we present below:

First, we have Miraflores, one of the most iconic districts in Lima, known for its beaches that attract surfers and water sports enthusiasts. Meanwhile, Barranco offers charming beaches that blend tranquility with an artistic atmosphere.

The beaches of Chorrillos offer a mix of tradition and modernity, while about 40 kilometers south of Lima, Punta Hermosa is a resort known for its stunning beaches and laid-back atmosphere.

WHAT'S NEXT

For summer 2025, daytime temperatures are expected to exceed 31 °C at the peak of the season. Hot days and nights are likely, along with possible heatwaves and occasional rain showers. At the start of summer, Lima will experience cloudy skies during the early morning hours, with a trend toward sunshine in the afternoon.

According to the forecast for the January-March 2025 quarter, rainfall in the northern coast and the western northern highlands is expected to return to "normal" levels. However, there is a possibility of "moderate" intensity rains.
