Perú Negro

When the Peruvian Cajón first resounded in Peru Nebraska it was because the oldest and most emblematic Peruvian dance troupe was on the dance floor ready to put color and flavor into this American city. Perú Negro, a legacy and tradition with 50 years of history, was the main figure of this historic event that filled us with pride. But not for the first time: twice nominated for a Latin Grammy, the group has shown its art in artistic performances in various countries. Founded in 1969 by the artist Ronaldo Campos, the typical costumes, contagious rhythms and magical choreographies of Perú Negro have made our music and Afro-Peruvian dances known to the world.
