The girls known as "Matadorcitas" ("little spikers") have earned the affection of all Peruvians thanks to their victories.
Popularly known as "las Matadorcitas" ("little spikers") the youth team of volleyball has always represented Peru abroad with success. Among their various
achievements we have: Bronze medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore (2010), Silver Medal at the Youth South American Games in Antioquia (2010), Gold Medal at
the Youth Pan American Championship in Callao (2011), Silver Medal at the Youth South American Championship in Lima and a gold medal at the Child South American
Championship in 2012. "The Matadorcitas" have qualified three times for a world championship, being the first time in 2011 for the U20 World Championship in Peru
where they came in sixth place. The second time was in 2013 for the U20 World Championship in Czech Republic and the third in 2013 for the U18 World Championship in
Thailand. At this event, the team managed to come in fourth place.
