Sofía Mulanovich

Sofia Mulanovich is the first Peruvian and South American surfer on winning an ASP World Surf Championship (Association of Surfing Professionals). In 2004, Mulanovich won three of the eight tournaments, reaching a score good enough to win the top title. In 2005, she came second in the same competition. In July 2006, she achieved a new title by winning the Honda Women s US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, California. On January 12, 2005 Mulanovich was awarded with the laurel wreath in sports in the grade of Grand Cross. On January 10, 2012, the Peruvian surfer was the best in the female category at the ISA China Cup. That same year she was world runner-up at the WCT World Tour in England, Fiji, and Australia. In 2015, she started the "Sofia Mulanovich Project" that seeks young talented surfers.
