Peru hosted the 49th Festival of the 2015 Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC, which was held in 2015 from 24 Wednesday to 28 June, and from 1 Wednesday to 5 July.

The Peruvian delegation was composed of more than 120 Peruvians who staged 12 cultural manifestations for the event visitors to enjoy. There were for example, a reconstruction of the Q’eswachaca bridge in Cusco and demonstrations on how to make Huanchaco"s famous reed watercrafts ("Caballitos de totora"). The Paucartambo dancers were also present with their skilful moves.

Representatives of The Centre for Traditional Textiles of Cusco (CTTC), the Wachiperi jungle community, the Sarawja dancers, Ucamar de Loreto radio, La Libertad marinera, and the Afro-Peruvian music, were also present.
