Peruvian brand “Superfoods Peru” arrives for the first time in Asia, in the framework of Asia Fruit Logistica — the leading fresh fruit and vegetable trade show in the Asia-Pacific— which takes place from 6 to 8 September in Hong Kong, China.
The launch took place at Sky100 in Hong Kong and gathered more than 300 personalities from the international food sector and the media, who were amazed by the quality and versatility of Peruvian products.
During the fair opening, the Asia Fruit Logistica Global Brand Manager Wilfried Woolbold and Asia Fruit Congress moderator Chris White thanked the presence of the Peruvian delegation that in ten years of uninterrupted participation has become one of the most popular ones at the fair, showcasing Peru's strength in the global fruit and vegetable sector.
Superfoods Peru products are drawing the attention of Asian fresh food markets. In this sense, Peruvian speakers, who are also users of the brand, expect to develop and explore new business opportunities with countries of that part of the world.
Superfoods Peru was launched in February at Fruit Logistica Trade Show in Europe, and now its equivalent fair in Asia is chosen for the Asian launch.
Peru has become the sixth exporter of fresh fruits to China and it is expected that in the following years continue climbing positions to become one of the principal suppliers of fresh fruits and vegetables not only to China but to Japan, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore.
The Peruvian delegation participates with more than 70 Peruvian companies, including producers, exporters, associations and logistics operators. They will showcase the best selection of fruits and vegetables such as grapes, blueberries, avocados, citrus fruits, mangoes, bananas, pomegranates, asparagus, ginger, quinoa and frozen fruits, among others.
It is important to note that Peruvian companies expect to close business deals that surpass the US $ 120 million obtained in the previous edition.
