The person in charge of receiving the award was the economic and trade adviser at the Peruvian office in Madrid, Bernardo Muñoz.
Peruvian Superfoods in the international spotlight
Those attending the awards ceremony were able to enjoy innovative and nutritious proposals via Peruvian Superfoods during a varied cocktail prepared by talented national chefs. Culinary presentations delighting the public included chilcanos with blueberries and passion fruit, chicha morada and soursop soft drinks, tuna causa, quinoa salad with octopus and asparagus and lucuma sauce with cacao powder.
The delicious culinary creations made it possible to place Peruvian foods in the international showcase, due to their diverse nutritious varieties.
In addition, the director of Communications and Country Image at PromPerú, Isabella Falco, appreciated the efforts of all Peruvians who contribute to our gastronomy being recognized worldwide.
“Our cuisine is based on the biodiversity and melting pot of Peruvian cultures. We have one of the most internationally renowned cuisines as a result of the efforts of the producers, framers and women who have transmitted passion in their recipes generation after generation".
"Nor should we forget all our chefs, our main ambassadors. Spain has always shown a special interest in Peruvian gastronomy and its flagship products, and this recognition proves it", she added.
