Widely-acclaimed Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez's Michellin-starred Lima London restaurant recently hosted a "Ceviche Night" dinner, the Inca country's Foreign Affairs Ministry revealed on Monday.
Held in partnership with fellow Peruvian chefs Gaston Acurio and Mitsuharu Tsumura, the special dinner constituted the first collaborative work of Peru's most internationally-renowned culinary stars in London.
In a master class on fusion ceviche, traditional flavors met —and harmoniously blended with— the modern takes on this signature Peruvian dish through innovative techniques and contemporary proposals.
The Peruvian experts thus managed to captivate Britain's discerning and demanding palates: specialized London food critics and restaurateurs who praised their exquisite execution and the extraordinary quality of their culinary offer.
Ambassador of Peru to the UK Claudio de La Puente hailed Martinez, Acurio and Tsumura for their role in exalting the Andean nation's rich gastronomy and culture.
It is worth noting the three chefs' gastronomic proposals are featured in British magazine Restaurant's top 50 ranking.
