On September 26, Asia Business Exchange 2019 ('Bolsa de Negocios Asia 2019') was held in Lima, an event in which important travel agencies from China, India, South Korea and Japan sought to capitalize on a business potential of US$ 80 million.
This event, which was held for the first time in Peru, brought together Peruvian tour operators and products with their Asian counterparts. The latter included agencies focused on the luxury segment, with customers who are independent travelers, characterized by having specific interests and opting for tailor-made travel programs.
Thirty-three representatives from Asian agencies participated in the Business Exchange; more than 500 meetings took place. This facilitated the sale of Peru’s tourism product, which will have an impact on the growth of arrivals of travelers from the Asian continent.
The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) organized the Asia Business Exchange 2019, at the Hyatt Centric Hotel in San Isidro, in order to promote Peru as a destination with unique experiences, as well as high-end tourism products and services.
FAMILIARIZATION TRIPS
From September 15 to 25, five familiarization trips took place simultaneously for event attendees, in the destinations of Lima, Ica, Paracas, Cusco, Iquitos, Trujillo, Chiclayo and Puno.
In this way, Asian agencies could confirm that Peruvian tourist destinations have everything required to satisfy a demanding traveler and were ready to close deals by establishing business relations with the 55 Peruvian companies that attended the Business Exchange.
It is important to note that among the agencies attended the event, 14 came from China, 6 from Japan, 5 from India, 5 from South Korea and 3 from Taipei.
