In the wake of a successful participation at MIPCOM 2017, the Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PROMPERÚ) announced the country’s first ever participation in Ventana Sur 2017. The event takes place in Buenos Aires, Argentina from November 27th – December 1st and welcomes a delegation of over 20 companies that aim to showcase Peru’s ever growing and evolving prolific film industry while attempting to stablish a film commission.

These events are the perfect platform to introduce Peru as a feasible alternative for audiovisual production. Throughout the years, its copious productions expand the gamut of all genres. From romantic comedies, to musicals, to art house films, to animation, and dramas, Peruvian film has been recognized around the world in different festivals and award shows, making them a sought-after product for distribution houses.

On the other hand, in addition to talented actors and directors, Peru also features magnificent sceneries, state-of-the-art studios, and highly-qualified post production houses that include virtual reality and visual effects. Peru has the capabilities to produce any content from script to distribution. Whether it is film, animation or virtual reality; Peru features multiple locations, resources, man power and talent able to compete with the highest international standards.

The companies attending and doing business during VENTANA SUR 2017 are: Alligator, Argos, Cinecorp, Ciudad Central, HD Peru, Planta Madre Films, Quechua Films, Red Animation, Santojo, Se or Z, Shiwa, Siete Samurai, Soda Film, Tondero y Via Expresa. The films El Navegante and El Truche will also be part of the Peruvian portfolio.

In addition to its remarkable film offerings, Peru is the main sponsor for Ventana Sur’s welcome cocktail known as the Jet_Lag Cocktail. Peru will also be hosting its own cocktail on November 28th at Patio Japones in Puerto Madero.

ABOUT VENTANA SUR

Ventana Sur is a Latin American film market created in November 2009 by INCAA and the Marché du Film/Festival de Cannes with the support of Creative Europe (European Commission).  Ventana Sur has become the main Latin American Film Market. Each year, it receives more than 2,000 accredited members, among whom there are more than 300 buyers and sellers from across the five continents. A modern infrastructure with over 40 individual stalls located in a quiet and comfortable area of the market, enables buyers to watch the most recent Latin American productions included in the video library. The market also includes the presence of distribution companies, large areas where buyers and sellers can hold business meetings, several conference rooms where talks and conferences of particular interest to the international film industry members can take place, as well as specific activities for producers and buyers.
