Itzel Delgado shines in international competitions

The Peruvian sportsman Itzel Delgado has recently achieved important triumphs in international competitions. He was crowned champion in two SUP surfing events, the Santa Cruz Paddlefest, held from March 28-31 in California, and the Rincon Beachboy SUP Race, held on April 6 in Puerto Rico.
Also, Itzel had an outstanding participation in the Carolina Cup SUP Race held from April 24-28 in North Carolina. In this competition, he was ranked 12th in the Elite category, exceeding the 22nd position Itzel reached in the previous edition; and he ranked second in the age category (18-48).
Gold Medals
He won his first gold medal in the 6-mile Elite category race in the Californian event, while the other gold medal was won in the Elite 14' category of the event held in Puerto Rico, after completing the 8-mile route in 1h 6m 48s.
"I am very happy to have reached the top of one of the most important podiums in the Caribbean", said Delgado through his social media.
It is worth remembering that the young surfer also participated successfully in the 2019 Rosario South American Beach Games, held from March 14 to 23, winning two golds and one silver medal.

Itzel Delgado is a sportsman who belongs to the TOP PERU 2019 group, made up of high-performance athletes. This program was created by the Peruvian Sports Institute (Instituto Peruano del Deporte (IPD)) in order to support and enhance the capabilities of top-level athletes heading to the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
